Daily Lesson Plan for Year 2 KBSR Science

Time             : 9.00 ~ 10.00 am

Class        : 2 H

No. of pupils : 30 pupils

Subject          : Science

Theme          : Learning about the world around us

Learning area   : Long or short

Learning objective  :  At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to learn to observe,measure and compare the length.

Learning outcome  :  Pupils will be able to :  
a. define what is long and short based on activity
b. compare the length of 3 objects based on activity
c. measure 4 different length based on activity

Pre-requisite knowledge : Pupils will be able to name objects surrounding them suchas ruler, table, book and pencil.

Measuring and use number when measure the length of things

Jump at different length according to their ability 
-Teacher invites 4pupils to come in front and ask them to jump like a frog.

-At the same time, teacher calls upon another 2 pupils to mark the distance that they had jump. 

-Then ask them to compare the length.

Every object has different length. 


 -Teacher show objects like table, book and ruler. 

- Asks pupils to predict the length of the objects.

-Asks pupils to write down their prediction in the worksheet given.

Objects like table, ruler and book can measure with different non-standard tools such as paper clips, straws and strip of paper 
-Teacher provides some non-standard tools such as straws, paper clips and strips of paper to measure the length of table, meter ruler and book 

-Ask the pupils to record their data on given worksheet. 

-Teacher guides the pupils.

-Teacher asks pupils to observe and compare the length of their body parts such as fingers, hair and hand with peers.
